1942-1943 Bud Abbott & Lou Costello Fan Mail Postal Cover Lot from Ireland WWII

Description

This is a lot of two WWII fan mail envelopes sent from the Republic of Ireland to Bud Abbott and Lou Costello at Universal Studios in Universal City, California.   These are the covers (envelopes) only without the letters.  Both envelopes have “Opened By Examiner” seals attached and both are postmarked “BAILE ATHA CLIATH” which is the Gaelic name for Dublin.   One of the envelopes is postmarked 17 September 1943 and the other is postmarked 30 October 1942.   Both covers have the sender’s name and return address in Ireland written on the back.  Both are vintage originals from the WWII era which presumably would have contained fan mail from Irish fans of Abbott & Costello who were really the most popular movie stars in the world around this time.   Email any questions.  Thanks for looking.
