Door Knobs. There are 7 pairs of knobs or 14 individual knobs and the set comes with the original 7 mortise lock pieces. They are
as found, not cleaned or polished in any way, has a beautiful patina, no signs of any damage.
The patina is amazing, there’s no doubt that these are authentic hand hammered copper pieces from the Arts and Crafts era stating around 1860. Each set of 2 knobs weigh a whopping 1 lb. 2 oz., they are quite heavy! Knobs are approx 2 1/4” across& 1 7/8” deep and have a hammered copper flange with 3 holes to secure it to the door. You can screw or un screw the knobs on the center piece that holds each set together in order to adjust the knobs to the actual thickness of the door you are using. This lot does not come with any screws or keys, what you see in the pics is what you get. To be clear, you get 7 sets of knobs, or 2 knobs for each set for a total of 14 copper knobs. There are 7 mortise locks for each of the 7 sets of knobs. The mortise locks are marked CORBIN, EACH OF THOSE WEIGHS 1lb 4oz and are approx. 4 3/8” x3 1/8”. The plate where the lock comes out is approx 6” x 1” x 1/8”. Has a hole for a skeleton key & they have a little scattered surface rust which doesn’t appear to interfere with anything. Each of the spring loaded latches on the mortise moves freely & pushes in when door would close. Any questions please ask, I’m no expert but maybe I can answer some questions. Don’t miss these, if I had an arts & Crafts era or style house, you wouldn’t be reading this right now! Knobs of similar quality on eBay seem to sell for close to 0 a pair, but there was nothing as rare & cool as these to compare them to so I had to start the price somewhere. If you have a house from this era you already know it costs a fortune to accessorize and furnish it, what’s a little more to have the coolest knobs in the neighborhood! Get these, you deserve it!
