    Description

    An old antique African sabre from the Benge tribe, Northern Congo. The decorated double edged blade is made from forged iron and the handle from wood bound with copper. The entire surface of one side of the blade is decorated. This sabre dates to the early 1900's or late 1800's and was used for war and tribal disputes. The knife measures in length 35.5 inches, 90 cm, and in diameter at the widest point 2.5 inches, 6.5 cm.
    The coin in the picture measures 16 mm in diameter.
