Description
This antique rim lock was manufactured by Branford Lock Works in the late 19th century. The lock has a Victorian vernacular geometric design at the leading edge, which is matched by the antique keeper. Both sides of the lock retain the original black lacquer coat.  Cast iron, it's designed to be mounted on the face of your door (and can be mounted on the left or right hand - just ask us how to reverse the bolt). There is a locking night-bolt on the bottom. This lock is in very good working condition with the newer key.
Antique rim lock measures 3 1/2" wide by 4 1/4" tall without keeper (keeper is 3/4" wide). Back-set (from edge of rim lock to the center of the doorknob shaft) is 2 1/2".  Distance from center of shaft to center of keyhole is 2 1/4".
