Description
Here's a handsome working antique rim lock for your fine home. The antique rim lock were manufactured by Russell and Erwin in the late 19th century. The lock has a Victorian vernacular geometric design around all sides, which is matched by the newer keeper. One side in particular retains most of the original copper "flashing".  Cast iron, it's designed to be mounted on the face of your door (and can be mounted on the left or right hand - just ask us how to reverse the bolt). There is a locking night-bolt on the face. This lock is in very good working condition with the newer key.
Antique rim lock measures 4 1/2" wide by 3 1/4" tall without keeper (keeper is 7/8" wide). Back-set (from edge of rim lock to the center of the doorknob shaft) is 3 5/8". Backset to center of upper keyhole is 2 3/4".  Distance from center of shaft to center of upper keyhole is 1 3/4."
