Description
One of the most sought-after patterns in antique hardware, the "Arabic" design was created by Mallory Wheeler in late 1889.  Based on Arabic characters, the handsome artwork on these five doorknobs and five plates features a finely incised mystical design with an undulating background. The pieces are a richly patinaed cast bronze that varies in hue.
All of these rare knobs and plates are in very good aesthetic condition with light surface wear.
"Arabic" Doorknobs are passage-door sized at 2 1/4" diameter. Doorplates are 1 5/8" by 5 1/4". Distance from center of shaft to center of upper keyhole is 2".
