Needlecase  Silvertone Metal with Blue Cabochon Lift off Cap 3 1/4" Long
    Condition:  Surface wear from use.
I'm calling it a needlecase but it could have been used for some other purpose (toothpicks?,  secret notes?, wooden matches?, or,  who knows?).
There are no markings on the case to suggest maker or composition.
The oval decoration is a lovely lapiz blue color - I think it is glass but could be sodalite.
Top cap fits snugly to the oval shaped body.  See photos, please.
This item was found in the bottom of a sewing box at an estate sale.  It was blackened with tarnish.  I made an assumption that it was holding sewing needles but, who knows?
It is 3 1/4 inches long.
It is an oval shape and has a slanted bottom.  It has linear machine striations on the body of the case giving it a refined "art deco" look.
There are no markings on the item or it's lid to suggest it's maker or metal composition.
