DESCRIPTION:
Vintage Japanese GLASS FISHING FLOAT..Rare Makers Mark & Patch Mark  (#77)
This float is approximately 11.5 inches in circumference (See note below on float circumference measurement)*.  It is made of hand blown glass that was blown into a mold and marked on pontil. This is a Japanese fishing float was actually used and has spent much of its life at sea. It has been picked out of hundreds of beachcombed and Japanese fishing floats to offer because of its unique qualities and characteristics. Its thick heavy glass contains impurities, inclusions and bubbles that are intrinsic to the Japanese manufacturing process. It is in good and sound condition with the normal wear one finds on fishing floats that have survived years of use in the ocean.  This float has thick glass with bubbles and is a beautiful aqua-green color (see photos). It has a rare maker's mark on its pontil and a patch mark on top (see photos).  The patch mark is a "4" inside the patch circle on the top (see photos).  Every vintage float is different and this one has many beautiful unique features (see photos).
