Vtg 1950s East African Maasai Herders Seme Sword Knife Scabbard Beaded Belt

Description

This listing features a sharp sword with a rawhide wrapped handle, hand sewn sheath with a ceremonial decorative beaded strap. Handmade double edged blade.The leather panel is beaded with copper wire and attached to the sheath through a loop and a rawhide tie. A few of the metal payettes sequins on the chain appear to be missing. The sword fits the scabbard, but it is hard to remove, and requires a little effort.
Sheath - approx 12” long x 2” wide
Sword  -  approx  19 ½” long
