    Description

    Patriotic Christmas Greetings, dated 4/18/45 from the Bleecker Street Welfare League. This mechanical greeting card features the American and Blue Star Service flags, operating on a string which raises and lowers them on the flagpole. It still works beautifully. The front piece recognizes "Our Service Flag" and "Our Boys... bravely fighting, bringing Peace on Earth anew". The flag piece notes "Serving Our Flag and Our Country." The Blue Star flag is normally the same size as the American flag, and is displayed when a family has a loved one serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. U.S. Military, World War 2, WWII, World War II.
